Mutual Aid: Building Fire, 1-January-2007, 00:30 hours

At 00:30 hours, units from Milesburg and Howard were dispatched to 604 Old 220 Road for reports of a building fire.  900 arrived on scene and advised a working fire in the abandoned old red/white tavern building, and that would be an exterior attack only.

 


Church Fire

Church Fire, 1-January-2007, 02:30 hours

At 02:30 units from Centre and Clinton Counties were dispatched to a church fire at the intersection of Nursery Rd, and Dowdy Hole Rd. First units on scene went into the fire from Clinton Counties to try to knock down the fire, but quickly they were running out of water. 1400 arrived on sence a short time later, coming from the Red/white tavern fire in Milesburg. 1400 decided to pull all firefighters out of the fire until a sufficient water supply colud be set up. By that time the fire was pretty well involved, so an exterior attack went into play. The church was a total lost. (Click for more pictures.)

Shed Fire, 15, May, 2007

At 18:20 units from Howard, Milesburg, and Walker Twp, were dispatched to a shed fire in Box 1410 Howard Twp, on Gravel Point Road. 1411 arrived on scene and held the response to company 14 only. The fire was quickly under control. (Click for more pictures.)

Fatal Accident on Route 150 / Howard Divide Road, 26, May,2007

At 04:35 units from Howard and Milesburg were dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 150 (Eagle Valley Rd) and Howard Divide Rd. 1400 had command and put into effect a search for any more people that could have been thrown from the vehicles. One patient was taken to the hospital. The other person was pronounced dead at the scene. Eagle Valley Rd remained closed for several hours so investigations and an extensive cleanup could take place. Company 14 Fire Police were assisted by PennDot. Ambulance and Medic services were provided by BEMS and Clinton 982. (Click for more pictures.)

Structure Fire, Jacksonville RD, 8, June, 2007

At 20:50 Howard Fire Company got dispatched to a Structure fire in box 1450 at 3784 Jacksonville RD. 1403 was on scene within minutes and advised a working fire in the 1st division. Fire fighters from Howard, Walker TWP, Milesburg, Undines, Logan’s, and Pleasant Gap Fire company responded. (Click for more pictures.)

MVA with Injuries Mill St, Howard Borough

13, July, 2007

At Around 2300 hrs in Box 1400. Company 14 responded to a MVA with Injuries in, Mill St, Howard Borough. 1400 arrived on scene in 1423 and advised there were 4 patients 3 of them being children, and also that driver was stuck in the front seat, while children were all out of the vehicle with minor injuries.  Unit’s that responded to the scene were 1411, 1410, 1423, 914, Beachcreek Blanchard EMS, Bellefonte EMS, and Pleasant Gap EMS. Upper Greens Run Boat Launch,Vehicle Recovery

At 1442hrs Company 14 was dispatched for Specialized Water Rescue, Upper Greens Run Boat Launch, a Vehicle Recovery. 1404 arrived on scene to find the owner of the vehicle standing at the boat launch area. The owner of the vehicle said no one is in the vehicle but it accidently got knocked out of gear.  It then went down an embankment and in to the Foster Sayers Dam, where the vehicle submerged in water, at least 15 to 20 ft down.  Units that responded to the scene were Company 14 with 1411, 1433 (Water Rescue Boat). Company 9 responded also with 914, 925, and a boat of the Howard Fire Company, which is kept at Station 9. Clinton Station 6 Dive team was brought in from Lock Haven to hook the tow cable to the submerged pickup truck.
